Local Licence Applicant Guide
Ajax sits along the Highway 401 corridor east of Toronto, with logistics parks, distribution facilities, and a range of commercial and industrial employers accessible by highway and the Ajax GO station. Those performing licensable security work at these operations should confirm current Ontario licensing requirements and any applicable exemptions with the relevant authority. Where a licence is required, a CRJMC is part of the Service Ontario application — consult Ontario's current licence guidance page for provider and submission requirements.
The requester or recipient — typically the applicant, guided by their employer — determines the correct check type before ordering. A CRJMC covers criminal records and judicial matters. A vulnerable sector check is a legally distinct product with a different application process; it is not interchangeable with a CRJMC and applies only where a position involves regular, unsupervised contact with vulnerable individuals. Confirm what is required with your employer or licensing body before submitting any application.
Ajax's industrial parks and distribution facilities along the Highway 401 corridor may include security roles where an Ontario licence is required. Those performing licensable duties should confirm current requirements — the CRJMC is the check type described on Ontario's licence application page.
Retail, hospitality, and community service employers in Ajax may include roles where Ontario security licensing requirements apply. Consult Ontario's current licence guidance page for provider and submission requirements before applying.
Durham Regional Police Service provides an official online portal for local police record checks for Ajax residents. This is an official local resource; follow Ontario's licence guidance and the requester's direction to determine which check type your situation requires.
A Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC), also called a Level II police check, is one type of police record check. Confirm the current check requirement, issuer, format, recency, and acceptance directly with the licensing authority before ordering.
